Hi, I’m Jordan

I moved my own young family to Austin, so I know what it is like to choose a neighbourhood from a thousand miles away. Now I help other families do it with less stress.

I am a newer agent with Bluebonnet Porch Realty and I keep a small number of clients so each one gets real attention. Expect honest answers about commutes, school districts and the true monthly cost of a home, including Texas property taxes.

How I help relocating families

Relocation is a buying process plus a lot of logistics. These are the parts I take off your plate.

  • Suburb shortlist

We start from your commute and budget and narrow the map to two or three areas worth touring.

  • Remote tours

Live video walkthroughs and honest notes so you only fly in for homes worth seeing.

  • True cost estimates

Property tax, MUD tax, HOA dues and insurance added up, so you compare homes on monthly cost.

  • Local introductions

Lenders, inspectors and movers who are used to working with out of state buyers.

Where I help families buy

Central Austin plus the northern suburbs most families compare when they relocate.

  • Mueller

    Austin, TX

A planned neighbourhood on the old airport site with parks, a lake and a mix of homes close to central Austin.

  • Round Rock

    Round Rock, TX

An established suburb north of Austin with a wide range of home ages and prices and easy access to I-35.

  • Pflugerville

    Pflugerville, TX

Growing northeast suburb with newer subdivisions, Lake Pflugerville and the SH 130 toll road.

  • Cedar Park

    Cedar Park, TX

Northwest suburb with hilly terrain, established neighbourhoods and quick access to the 183A toll road.

  • Leander

    Leander, TX

Fast growing area at the north end of the MetroRail Red Line, with many newer homes.

  • Hutto

    Hutto, TX

Small town feel east of Round Rock with newer communities and more home for the budget.

What families say

  • We bought our house in Round Rock from Ohio after one weekend visit. Jordan’s video tours were so thorough that nothing surprised us on move in day.

  • Jordan laid out the total monthly cost for every home, taxes and MUD included. That changed which neighbourhood we chose, for the better.

Questions relocating families ask

Which Austin suburbs are best for young families?

It depends on where you will work and what you want nearby, but families relocating with me most often look at Round Rock, Pflugerville, Cedar Park, Leander and Hutto. Each has its own school district, commute pattern and price range. I start with your commute and budget, then narrow it to two or three areas to tour.

Can I buy a home in Austin before I move?

Yes. Many of my clients buy from out of state using video tours, a local inspector and electronic signing, then visit once for a focused weekend of showings. Closing can be done remotely in many cases. I send detailed notes and video so you can decide with confidence from wherever you are.

Why are property taxes in Texas higher than I expected?

Texas has no state income tax, so local services like schools, counties and cities rely heavily on property tax. Rates vary by address because each home sits in a different combination of taxing districts, sometimes including a municipal utility district. Always check the total tax rate for a specific home, and file for your homestead exemption once you live there.

What is a MUD and should I avoid homes in one?

A MUD, or municipal utility district, is a local district that funds water, sewer and drainage for newer neighbourhoods and pays for it through an extra property tax. You do not need to avoid them, but you should include the MUD tax in your monthly budget and compare total costs between homes, not just prices.
